New Rez in the tank

This year's Erie County Fair Goldfish Win has prompted a more earnest than usual attempt at establishing an aquatic eco-system to house said fishy. 100 bucks later the 5-gallon tank with built in light and filter and assorted plants and fish knick-knacks has become home to one each of about five different species of "freshwater" fish. And an African Dwarf Frog that sheds it's skin from time to time. Today it's the Golden Gourami who has been introduced to the fray. Pretty, but after watching it in action I'm fearing for the frog and the little molly...

I have felt for a long time that there is a tendency to 'demonize' those who hold opposing views on any issue in general. Both Liberals and Conservatives are guilty of this and it has become increasingly prominent since US troops went into Iraq.

not for the faint of heart~~whew~~updating my BlogRoll took a good wind out of me... I'm loosely using a 6-12 month "no posts" rule when determining which links to keep and which to send to the scrap pile. If a blog hasn't been updated in 6-12 months, it usually means said blogger won't be back or if they do return, it will be under a different name/domain/schtick/whatever. Content is an important consideration , but as both of you can attest, I haven't exactly been a ball of fire in that arena either. Western New York has phenomenal people in the area as well as online and, as I first discovered when I began this outpost, it is something I am grateful to be able to access every day. Anyway, I changed the template again for the first time since Jan. or Feb. so I was due! I hope you enjoy it and that I can keep a promise to myself to take more time for this wonderful outlet and do it the justice that 'Buffalo Bloggers' do.

BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) - Israel will halt its war in Lebanon at 7 a.m. Monday (midnight EDT Sunday night), a senior Israeli government official said Saturday. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to comment publicly on the sensitive matter. Israel's Cabinet was to endorse the U.N. cease-fire resolution later Sunday. Israeli helicopters, meanwhile, flew hundreds of commandos into the Hezbollah heartland, and some army units reached the Litani River on Saturday as both sides indicated they would accept the U.N. cease-fire plan to stop heavy fighting still raging in southern Lebanon.
